bartlett mitchell were amongst the top rated businesses in 2018 having completed our Food Made Good Sustainability Rating. They were finalists for Business of the Year and were smashing the sustainability agenda across the board.

bartlett mitchell operate an electronic purchasing platform which allows all 90 of their restaurants access to details about the provenance of every item they order. This includes origin, region, farm, certifications and food-miles-to-distribution.

Not only does this allow the restaurants to make more informed sustainability decisions, but it also makes it very easy to share this information with their customers and maintain transparency.

Bee part of the Community

The London-based contract caterer celebrates UK and regional honey bees by sponsoring beehives on each contract’s 1st anniversary. Their menu is designed with local honey in mind and supporting local bee keepers through the BBKA.

They work closely with their local community in Egham to encourage schools and young people to consider catering and hospitality as a career. Attend many local events and run classes in schools and scout groups.

Perkee Pride

bartlett mitchell operate a development project within the community of the producers who grow our Perkee Coffee. A visit in January 2018 helped them understand the challenges in the community and work out how they could support a secure and sustainable future.

Team members at the catering company will be fundraising for the women who work in the drying mill, proceeds to support their biscuit business. Selling more bakery products would reduce their reliance seasonal coffee harvest income and allow them to expand their range of pastry and biscuit products.
